Two people from High Wycombe have been arrested after a woman was stabbed.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was in Queens Road between 12.30am and 12.40am yesterday (Wednesday) when she reportedly became involved in an altercation.

She suffered injuries to her abdomen and was taken to hospital for treatment where police said she remains in a stable condition.

It comes after a man in his 20s was also taken to hospital after he was also allegedly stabbed in Juniper Drive yesterday. Police said they are not linking the two incidents.

A 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested yesterday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and are currently in police custody.

Investigating officer detective inspector Mike Anderson of High Wycombe Force CID, said: “A team of detectives is investigating to establish the circumstances.

“The full details of this incident are currently unclear at this stage, however we do believe this to be an isolated case and there is no perceived risk to the wider public.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has any information which may be relevant to our investigation, to contact police.

“Although we are in the early stages of the investigation, this does not appear to be a random attack and is not being linked with any other assaults in the area.”
