Kind-heartered primary school pupils have been filling shoe boxes with much-needed items to send to underprivileged children and orphanages in Europe this festive season.

A scheme run by the Rotary Club of High Wycombe has seen pupils at Radnage Church of England VA School donating toys, clothes and games to disadvantaged children, mainly in eastern Europe. The programme has been running for a number of years, with the boxes being transported all year round.

Rotary club president Humphrey Creed said: “The scheme not only helps those children who are deprived of many things that we take for granted in this country, but also helps the children understand that many families across the world are less fortunate than themselves.”
