Pupils, governors and staff at Millbrook Combined School in High Wycombe marked the end of a year-long renovation project with an official reopening ceremony attended by the mayor.
Cllr Sarfaraz Khan Raja and school head teacher, Debra Mansfield, cut the ribbon in front of the original stone that was quarried on site in 1936 when the school was first opened to celebrate the end of the extensive revamp.
Since the summer of 2015, building work has been ongoing to accommodate extra classes, starting with the creation of a third reception classroom.
The final phase during 2017 to 2018 saw the completion of upstairs classrooms, an extension of the dining room, a new school office, a new nursery facility and a new children’s centre, as well as extensive refurbishment and redecoration throughout the rest of the school.
The main Mill End Road school building was constructed in 1936 and was called Mill End Secondary School.
