“Exciting” refurbishment plans for Marlow Library have been unveiled, including a café, new meeting rooms and a complete makeover for the children’s and teen areas.

The plans will be on display in the library in Institute Road from December 18 until the end of January, and residents have been invited to have their say.

Library staff will be on hand to answer any questions about the proposals and listen to people's suggestions.

Proposals include redecoration of the library, including the children’s and teen areas, self-service technology and spaces that will be available to hire.

Cabinet member for community engagement and public health at Bucks County Council (BCC), Noel Brown, said the proposals will help to shape an array of services for people in Marlow.

He said: “Marlow Library is a beautiful building in a fantastic position and it has the potential to offer even more to the local community.

“We are eager to hear local people's views about what they want and how new things could help make their lives easier.

"We've already done something similar in Buckingham to help communities there, but the point is that each needs to be relevant to the community which is why local views are so important in designing a future business case for change.

“Please try and have your own say at the library over the coming weeks.”

Final decisions on the scheme are expected to me made later in 2019.
