Funny and highly talented in every way possible - Ben Elton has announced his stand up comedy UK tour in a bid to make the nation laugh again.

The comedian exploded into the scene more than 30 years ago with his hosting of Channel 4's ground-breaking Saturday Live.

After 15 years of his absence, the multi-talented man is making a comeback tour in the hope to bring back more laughter and comedy action.

Ben Elton is a man of many talents. A multi-award wining novelist, playwright, television writer, screen writer and lyricist. He is also a theatre, screen and TV director, a stand up comedian and on the rare occasion an actor. The list is pretty long.

Audiences may remember the classic TV programme Blackadder in which Ben Elton was a co-writer with Richard Curtis. He also wrote the famous Mr Bean's Exam episode which was equally as hilarious as people can remember.

Ben said: "The last time I toured I was still smarter than my phone. Things have definitely taken a funny turn."

After many many years, the comedian will now be touring in locations all across the country where you'll get to see the man himself perform at the Wycombe Swan on November 4, The Hexagon, in Reading, on November 13, Aylesbury's Waterside Theatre on November 19 and at the Newbury Corn Exchange on September 16, along with many more locations across the UK.

His stand-up comedy history presides as being one of the UK's and Australia's most successful live acts, last touring in 2005/6.

In 1990, the man himself co-hosted the Nelson Mandela Celebration at Wembley Stadium and hosted the Brits in 1997 and 1998.

As well as all of this success he has won major awards such as Three BAFTA's for Best Comedy Series in The Young Ones and Blackadder 3 and 4, Two Olivier Awards for Popcorn and We will Rock You.
