A man was injured when two cars and a minibus crashed on the M40 early this morning.

Five men managed to escape from the vehicles before the emergency services arrived at the scene on the southbound carriageway between junction 5 for Stokenchurch and junction 4 for Handy Cross at 5.45am.

Another man was injured in the crash, which saw two lanes closed on the motorway ahead of rush hour, and he was treated by South Central Ambulance Service.

Bucks Fire and Rescue also sent two fire crews from High Wycombe to assist at the scene.
