The family of a keen cyclist who died after a crash in Amersham has paid tribute to him.

Justin O’Neil, 45, from Amersham, died following a crash with a van in Woodside Road last Thursday (January 3).

His family said: “Justin was a keen cyclist, passionate about road safety, safe cycling and a founding member of the Amersham Road Cycling club – which now has over 250 members.

“He leaves a wife and two young daughters and will be greatly missed by family and a wide circle of friends and colleagues.

“If anyone has any information that may assist the investigation please contact Thames Valley Police (TVP).”

A 36-year-old man from Chesham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and was released on police bail until January 14.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses in connection with the incident.
