A man was kicked and cut with a knife for refusing to hand money over to a man in High Wycombe.

At around 7am yesterday (January 24) the man, in his forties, was walking down Bowerdean Road when he was approached by another male who asked him for cash.

When the man declined, he was kicked in the back of the leg before the attacker produced a weapon - believed to be a small knife - and cut his face before running off.

The man suffered cuts to his face and was treated at Wycombe Minor Injuries Unit.

The attacker is described as a tall, white man, with dark hair, a beard and of slim build.

He was wearing a hat, glasses, a hooded top and tracksuit bottoms.

Investigating officer, PC Mark Palethorpe based at High Wycombe police station, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on the victim which was undoubtedly extremely frightening."
