The new 150-room hotel at the Handy Cross Hub will be a Hampton by Hilton, the company has announced.

It was announced in November last year that hotel group Legacy Hotels & Resorts had bought part of the site – and it has now been revealed that the new hotel will be the Hampton by Hilton brand.

Andy Townsend, CEO of Legacy Hotels & Resorts, who lives in Marlow, said the new hotel will be a “landmark building” which will be “significantly visible” to passing traffic on the M40.

He said: “This is a continuation of our partnership with Hilton and this exciting project will meet the growing demand for quality accommodation in the area.”

The Hampton by Hilton brand is expanding into the UK and Ireland, with 29 hotels and another 24 in the pipeline.

Cllr Steve Broadbent, cabinet member for economic development and regeneration at Wycombe District Council, said: “Hampton by Hilton is a globally-recognised hotel brand, and we are delighted that there will be a quality offer at Handy Cross Hub.

“Handy Cross Hub is a prime location with great potential for investors to continue to improve the ‘town offer’. Following on from this latest success we hope to capitalise on this and progress with development of another piece of the HXH jigsaw.”
