A paedophile from Chesham has been jailed for 18 years for child sex offences.

Jamie Luke Roberts, 26, of Cresswell Road, was convicted of two counts of rape of a child under the age of 13 and three counts of possession of indecent photographs of a child which covered category A, B and C.

A further one count of rape of a child under the age of 13, one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act, two counts of assault of a child under the age of 13 by penetration and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child will remain on file.

The offences were against one victim in Buckinghamshire between October 8, 2017, and July 15, 2018.

Roberts pleaded guilty to a number of offences at Aylesbury Crown Court on December 10 last year.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kate Bottomley, said: “The victim in this case was subjected to horrific sexual abuse.

“Roberts admitted to some abhorrent crimes and will now spend a significant amount of time in prison.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the family of the victim in this case for their support and bravery during this investigation.

“The sentence reflects the hard work that is carried out by the child abuse investigation unit in bringing this offender to justice.

“We will listen, there is support and help available and, wherever possible, offenders will be prosecuted.”
