A SAUNDERTON-BASED charity is looking for volunteers to help care for some of its dogs-in-training.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains pooches to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds, including smoke alarms, intruder alarms, oven timers, alarm clocks and even baby monitors.
The charity is currently looking for puppy parents, temporary dog fostering and people who can home-school a hearing dog.
Nicki Johnson, from Marlow, who has been a Hearing Dog volunteer for two years, said: “Through volunteering we now have an awesome dog who has become part of our family. When the pups have moved on, your hearing dog mum is there to stay.”
Volunteering manager Victoria Leedham said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who loves dogs, has the time and commitment to take care of one, and wants to do something fun while making a real difference.”
Call 01844 348 100 to volunteer.
