HIGH WYCOMBE’S Library Gardens will keep its name, councillors have decided - even though the library relocated 10 years ago.
The gardens, on Queen Victoria Road, could have been renamed the memorial gardens - but councillors on the High Wycombe town committee decided against it.
The library moved from Queen Victoria Road to the Eden Shopping Centre more than a decade ago. The building is set to be used to house social workers from the county council.
Cllr Matt Knight joked that they could be renamed the “Wycombe District Council Memorial Gardens” in reference to the county’s move to abolish all councils in favour of a unitary authority.
Cllr Tony Green said it would be “sensible” not to change its name as “that’s what people know it as”.
