A planned new cemetery in Hazlemere is set to be renamed - so drivers do not get confused.
Wycombe District Council initially referred to the new cemetery as the Queensway Cemetery - but will be known as the Penn Road cemetery from now on.
Elaine Jewell, head of community at Wycombe District Council, said the move has been made so drivers can find the correct entrance.
She told councillors at the High Wycombe town committee this week: “The reason for changing is we want people to go to the right place and on no account to go to Queensway – because residents would be very unhappy to see them.
"We have been very clear with residents in Queensway who have raised lots of questions about this that we won’t be using that access – it will only ever be an egress for the hearse and immediate cortege to get them off site quickly."
If the cemetery is given the green light, it will feature a woodland walk, reflective pools, an admin building and on-site parking for 32 cars.
