Street sweeping vehicles have been fitted with chemical spraying kits to tackle overgrown weeds on roadsides across South Bucks.
South Bucks District Council (SBDC) has teamed up with Bucks County Council to trial the initiative, in a bid to tackle weeds growing on roadsides within the district.
Street sweepers across the district have been fitted with weed spraying kits – which allows them to tackle overgrown weeds while cleaning the roadsides.
SBDC cabinet member for environment, Luisa Sullivan, said: “Weeds are unsightly and can cause problems with roads and pavements if they are not kept under control.
“We hope this will be an effective and efficient way of tackling two jobs at once and it’s an excellent demonstration of successful partnership working between the district and county council.”
