CARING campaigners from an anti-bullying group recently held a badminton tournament to create awareness about the issue in Reading schools.

Manu Dhaumya, who has been the face behind the campaign, United Against Bullies in Reading, for five years, organised the event.

It took place in Loddon Valley last week.

For his work on this cause, Manu has been nominated several times for a Pride of Reading award.

Manu said: "The cause is aimed at raising awareness of the bullying epidemic that takes place in schools.

"I am also sponsoring the Shinfield Cricket Club to help underprivileged kids get help with coaching.

"This will be an annual event to raise funds for the cause.

"We have a Facebook page, and anyone who is being bullied should contact them to seek help.

"We need to encourage kids to talk to someone they trust."

Manu said the event was a great success, and hopes to carry on the work in the future.
