A SECONDARY school beat five other schools to secure first place in The Global Rock Challenge.
More than 90 students from Bourne End Academy beat schools like Wycombe High and The Beaconsfield School in the performing arts competition at Wycombe Swan.
The competition is an anti-drug and crime prevention initiative and invites students to create an eight-minute dance and drama production on a theme of their choice.
Bourne End Academy received 15 awards of excellence across all three categories of production, performance and drama.
Laura Arnold, head of dance, said: “They [the students] have taken this on as an opportunity and...it has been a pleasure for so many of these students to flourish, and share the experience with them.”
The pupils will take on the finals in Portsmouth later this year.
