A young actor from Amersham will star in a new comedy drama which will be broadcast on Sky Arts later this month.

10-year-old Mylo Roberts will portray Henry Dickens in Bleak House Guest. The programme is an episode in the third season of Urban Myths, a series from Sky Arts which adds a comedic spin into surreal urban myths.

Mylo will star alongside Stephen Mangan, who portrayed Charles Dickens, Ian Hart as Hans Christian Anderson and Monica Dolan as Charles Dickens’s wife Catherine.

Mylo Roberts said of his time on set: “I loved my time filming Bleak House Guest. Everyone was really friendly, and Ian Hart and Stephen Mangan were very funny. Ian even signed my Professor Quirrell Harry Potter playing card as I am a big fan!”

Alexandra Roberts, Mylo’s mother, said: "We are really proud of Mylo. He is determined to be an actor and having such a positive experience on set with SLAM Films/NFTS has made him even more resolute!”

The episode was produced by students from the National Film and Television School alongside production company Slam Films, as part of the school’s Bridges to Industry scheme.

Mylo currently trains at the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) in Amersham. The talented youngster is represented by Quirky Kidz Creative Management, who represents students from across the country.

Kristie Sicolo, Head of Quirky Kidz, said: “Mylo is an absolute delight and he has been in high demand recently, landing roles in the forthcoming feature film The Personal History of David Copperfield and Overlord (released last year). Now he is in Bleak House Guest as Henry Dickens and we couldn’t be prouder!’’

Bleak House Guest will air on Sky Arts at 9pm on April 24.
