Runners competing in this years London Marathon will be offered free travel to the capital by Chiltern Railways later this month.
On April 28, runners of all ages and abilities will be heading to the capital to take part in one of the worlds most famous endurance races.
Those travelling from stations operated by Chiltern Railways will be able to show staff a valid race number to staff at the gate line and on the train to receive free travel to the event.
Two additional early morning services will also be put on to accommodate the increased number of passengers, 6.40am from Banbury to Marylebone and 7.00am from Aylesbury to Marylebone via High Wycombe.
David Heathfield, Head of Corporate Affairs at Chiltern Railways said, “The 2019 London Marathon is such an iconic event which raises so much money for great causes.
“That’s why at Chiltern Railways we’re putting on extra trains and more carriages to help spectators go to support their friends and family on the route. Our free travel for runners will help to get runners to the start line and tired legs home.”
