A skip full of rubbish was picked out of Hughenden Stream as members of the community got together to clean up the local area.
Volunteers from the local community teamed up with Bucks New University and the Royal Star and Garter care home, donning their wellies and removed cigarette butts, crisp packets and other rubbish from the stream.
The Chiltern Rangers and Thames Water River Wye Restoration Project works to return the waterway to a condition which can be enjoyed by local residents and wildlife.
Education and Community Engagement Manager at Chiltern Rangers Paul Stack said: “It was a hugely successful community event. It was great to see everybody joining in and working together. This is only the start, we have more to do!”
Royal Star and Garter Care Home manager Chelle Daly said: “It was great to work with Chiltern Rangers and our neighbours to tidy up this beautiful stretch of water, for our residents and the whole community to enjoy.”
