A nine-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after hit-and-run in High Wycombe.

At around 10pm yesterday (Thursday), a red Toyota Prius, which was travelling along Mill End Road, struck two pedestrians.

The two pedestrians, a 30-year-old man and a nine-year-old boy, were taken to hospital where they remain.

The vehicle did not stop at the scene and officers are trying to establish who was driving.

Eyewitnesses told the Bucks Free Press police were seen taping off the Tesco Express at the bottom of the road, near the roundabout with Chapel Lane and New Road.

Investigating officer, PC Tom Smith, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Amersham, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“I would also urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to check any dash-cam footage.”
