Resurfacing work on two busy High Wycombe roads has seen them closed to drivers since yesterday morning.

Abbey Barn Lane was shut on Monday, April 15 between 7am and 7pm and today, Abbey Barn Road is shut between 9.30am and 3.30pm, with temporary two way traffic signals outside of these times.

The roads have been closed by Transport for Bucks (TfB) as part of their "plane and patch" scheme.

The scheme started on March 4 and workers have been cutting out large sections of deteriorating road and completely resurface the area with new material, rather than fixing individual potholes.

Areas undergoing plane and patch range from sites as small as 20 square metres to larger areas – some as big as 1,500 square metres.

The work on the two busy roads means drivers should get a much smoother journey when they both reopen.
