Beaconsfield residents now have an alternative way of getting around town with the launch of the brand-new community bus service.

It was reported in 2015 that Beaconsfield town council were looking into introducing the community scheme.

The community initiative has now been launched and aims to help alleviate some of the parking issues in the town by offering residents a new way of getting around.

The buses route will start at Alfriston School, before travelling past the Bekonscot Model Village and into the New Town, before looping to Holtspur, through the Old Town and back to New Town. So far, over 250 rides have been taken on the new service.

Anita Cranmer, Mayor of Beaconsfield Town Council, said: “We are pleased to support this trial to study the demand for such a community bus service and we look forward to the views of the town.

“Thanks go to all supporters and sponsors, and we look forward to the rest of the community getting on board”
