A local woman is looking for more women to explore the local area and get out on their bikes as part of the local Breeze cycling initiative.

HSBC UK Breeze is a cycling programme aimed at getting more women riding bikes to improve physical fitness and mental wellbeing. These free rides are hosted regularly in Amersham, Chesham and Chalfont St Giles.

Rides extend from gentle, five-mile rides for those taking their first step on their fitness journey up to more challenging rides of 30 miles plus.

Breeze Champion Rachel Fennell, who leads rides out of Amersham and into the surrounding areas, said: “Breeze is all about fun, friendly, and flexible bike rides for women, led by women and remembering how good it is to ride a bike with friends.

“These free rides explore local, accessible routes in small friendly groups. Rides take place all the year round and are ideal for women who are looking to get back on a bike or want to improve their cycling and fitness.”

Snita Sharma, who has signed up for the programme, said: “I have really improved since riding with the breeze group led by Rachel & feel more confident riding on the roads as part of a group. Also love our coffee stops, it’s a healthy way to socialise too.

“Cycling has played a huge part in me reversing my diabetes and would like to keep it up and stay healthy.”
