Residents and visitors’ artistic talents was on show at an art exhibition held at the Chalfont Lodge Care Home, Buckinghamshire.

All of the artwork on display was produced in weekly still life classes, which have been running throughout the year. Alongside the artwork produced, the classes focus on building friendship and increasing confidence amongst attendees.Max Perkins, who has been conducting weekly still life drawing classes and art talks said: “It’s been amazing to see how everyone’s style has progressed and grown since the first class.

“Many of the residents told me they couldn’t draw at the start and initially were unhappy with the work produced, but as time has gone on and everyone has found their own style, the progression has been outstanding. We’ve been comparing some of the first pieces of art from week one to now and it’s breath-taking.”

Raj Boodhoo, General Manager at Chalfont Lodge said: “Art is very popular with everyone who lives at Chalfont Lodge and creative activities are always a favourite.

“The art exhibition is a very special event for us, and we are honoured to be able to display beautiful artwork created by residents and to welcome people from the community who want to enjoy viewing these wonderful pieces.”
