Campaigners StopHS2 are claiming that new footage which shows the removal of hedgerows in Bucks amounts to an 'environmental crime scene'.
The footage shows 200 metres of hedgerows being removed in the Aylesbury Vale district from fields between Steeple Claydon and Calvert, where the new tracks will run through.
The development is expected to extend closer into South Bucks in the near future, with woodland expected to be cleared in Colne Valley.
An HS2 Ltd spokesperson said: “We would like to assure people that all our mitigation work complies with environmental standards, and we follow established best practice guidelines.
"Our ecologists have completed working method statements in advance of vegetation clearance works commencing, and supervision is provided at all times by an on-site ecologist during the undertaking of clearance.”
