An appeal has been lodged after plans to build a new chapel in Longwick to provide a place for bereaved families and friends of those who have lost children to come together were rejected.
The plan is to build the ‘Children’s Round Chapel’ which will act as a focal point for people to come together either as a group or individually and share their own personal experiences and coping mechanisms.
Jon Colinswood, the man behind the project, has designed the interior of the chapel, which will feature images of children’s toys, a statue of a mother cradling a child and a lamb of God.
There will always be a lit candle at the Round Chapel, which will remain lit at all times in remembrance of a lost or missing child.
Jon said: “I wanted to do something to really make a difference. We are hoping to provide a place for people that have suffered can come together.”
