A DRIVER forcing up a barrier at a busy town centre car park prompted a “technical issue” that closed it off on Bank Holiday Monday.
People trying to visit High Wycombe on Sunday and Monday could not get into the Wycombe Swan car park because the barriers would not rise - and an electronic sign claimed the car park was full.
A number of drivers were spotted ignoring the restrictions and heading into the car park through the exit instead.
A Wycombe District Council spokesman said: “We’re really sorry about the inconvenience caused to people trying to park in the Swan car park.
“Unfortunately a technical issue, exacerbated by the barrier being forced up, caused issues with the barriers jamming and not letting people into the car park.”
