An e-fit has been released of a man police believe may have vital information about an attempted kidnapping in High Wycombe.

It comes after a man attempted to grab a woman in a “frightening” incident on London Road at around 1.30am on April 7.

A woman was walking along the road from the direction of the town centre when she was approached by a silver van or people carrier.

The driver offered the woman a lift, but the woman declined, then another man appeared from rear sliding doors and tried to grab her.

The woman, aged in her mid-twenties, managed to run away and was not hurt.

The man in the image released today by police is described as an Asian man aged in his early twenties. He had long hair and a well-cut beard and was dressed in brown clothing and a matching hat.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Caroline Timmis of Force CID based at High Wycombe police station, said: “I am releasing this E-fit image as part of an ongoing investigation.

“This was a frightening incident for the victim, but her quick actions ensured that she was not harmed.”

Anyone with information about the incident, or who recognises the man in the e-fit, should call police on 101 quoting reference number 43190105387.
