See how the police station used to look when it was first built, and how the area around the town's famous Guildhall has changed using the 'sliders' below.

This picture shows the then-new police station in Queen Victoria Road in 1937. The building still stands in the same place.

The Guildhall and pub are still on the corner but a lot of the shops on the High Street have changed through the years.
