Wycombe District Council deals with thousands of planning applications every year.

They range from house owners wanting to build an extension to new homes, shops, businesses and even chopping down trees.

Here are five of the best projects announced from last week - the council will now consider whether each should go ahead.

1 - Lynton House, 43 London Road, High Wycombe: The original house was converted to a doctors’ surgery in the 1960s and had was extended further in 1991.

The local NHS medical trust took over the practice in 2015 and as a result of the local services being reorganised and centralised and as a result the surgery is no longer a valid option.

It is proposed that the ground and first floors of the original detached part of the house will be converted to form three residential apartments with parking.

2 - Ground Floor, 24 High Street, High Wycombe: Proposals have been launched to change the use of the ground floor to a new nail bar serving people in High Wycombe.

The proposal states that the planned conversion will have no impact upon the heritage assets of the building.

3 - Rear of 91A & 91B, Amersham Road, High Wycombe: Plans have been submitted to build one block of two one bed self-contained flats on the site in High Wycombe.

The flats will come with bin and cycle stores, car parking for residents and the creation of new access to Chadwick Street. The amendments to the site small infill on the first floor above the rear balcony. The external balcony will also be repositioned.

One neighbour has voiced objections to the plan, saying that the plans will have a ‘negative impact on the properties and should not be allowed’ because of the fears to privacy for the residents of the flats.

4 - Wycombe Heights Golf Centre, Rayners Avenue, Loudwater: The golf course have submitted the planning application to build an irrigation reservoir, in connection with delivering sustainable irrigation to the golf course.

The plans have included flood risk assessments and the potential impact to the local wildlife as well deciphering whether there is landfill near the site which could have an impact on the proposals.

5 - West Wycombe Combined School, Church Lane, West Wycombe: The school have proposed demolishing and replacing the two entrance porches to the west of the school building.

With one of the porches having already been demolished, the school plan to rejuvenate the exterior of the buildings whilst improving the architectural character of the site.

The extension will be constructed with Flemish bond facing bricks with brick plinths to match existing bricks. The new windows will be provided with stone subcills and the existing windows to the toilet accommodation will be replaced with new powder coated aluminium casement windows
