FLACKWELL Heath Minors FC will be hosting their annual Festival of Football Tournament at the beginning of next month.

On June 1 and 2, over 1,000 young budding footballers will battle it out in the two-day football celebration at Green Dragon Sports Ground.

The annual event, organised by Flackwell Heath Minors, sees teams come from far and wide with other community groups helping make the day fun for spectators and players.

Chairman of Flackwell Heath Minors FC Declan Breen said: “Last year there were 1,500 boys and girls attending from 200 teams, supported by family and friends as well as loyal supporters from the village.

“The tournament is truly a community event with support from Juniper Hill School, Flackwell Heath Cubs & Scouts and numerous villagers and local businesses who support us in the build up and on the weekend of the event.

“As well as the football there’s a bar, tea tent, BBQ, tombola and lots of other fun to be had – a great family day out.”

With this year expected to be one of the biggest events to date, it is sure to be a great day out for the whole family. The gates open at 8.30am on Saturday, June 1. For more information visit: www.fhmfc.org.
