An ARREST has been made after investigation into dozens of giant waste heaps illegally dumped across Buckinghamshire.
A 44-year-old man from Maidenhead was arrested by Thames Valley Police in connection with large-scale illegal waste-tipping.
There has been a spate of incidents since March this year with 35 amounts of waste deposited unlawfully, with 100 tonnes dumped in one go in some cases.
In February, there was one incident reported on Willetts Lane in Denham and two incidents on the A355 north of Beaconsfield. In March, there were individual incidents reported in Handy Cross, Hyde Green in Beaconsfield, the A413 and Denham Court Road in Denham. So far this month, only one incident has been reported, on Common Road in Taplow.
Emma Viner, area enforcement manager for the Environment Agency, said: “Waste criminals put both the environment and local communities at risk with their reckless actions.”
