DRIVERS are being warned to expect delays as roadworks for Eden started this week.

The latest work will be around the Oxford Road/Abbey Way roundabout and affect Bridge Street, Bellfield Road, Lily's Walk and Desborough Road, High Wycombe, where lane restrictions during off-peak times will be in place.

Val Letheren, transportation cabinet member for Bucks County Council, said: "These highway works are essential to the regeneration of High Wycombe's town centre.

"Once again, I apologise to the public for any delays or disruption.

"I can only thank businesses and the public for the patience they have demonstrated throughout this major project and hope they can see for themselves the benefits taking shape.

"Our teams have worked hard to ensure these works are finished well ahead of the busy Christmas shopping period to ensure that businesses and shoppers are not affected."

The work is expected to be completed in four weeks. For latest information on the works, visit the county council's website www.buckscc.gov.uk or phone Highways on Call on 0845 2302882.
