A REVIEW into health chain Boots says more than 200 Boots stores across the UK could be closed.

Shops which are in places that have more than one store are under review over the next 12 to 18 months for possible closure.

High Wycombe has two Boots shops, one in Eden and another on High Street which also houses a phamracy.

The chain has 2,485 stores across the UK, employing about 56,000 staff.

The store said: "We are being realistic about the future and that we will need to be agile to adapt to the changing landscape."

The shops that the owners have identified for possible closure are reportedly in locations where there are stores close together.

There is a Boots in Chesham and also one in Amersham, and a branch in Marlow.

Owners also say many of the branches are 'underperforming' and these will be looked at.

A list of shops under threat had not been revealed.
