Wycombe District Council deals with thousands of planning applications every year.

They range from house owners wanting to build an extension to new homes, shops, businesses and even chopping down trees.

Here are five of the best projects announced from last week - the council will now consider whether each should go ahead.

1 - Castlefield Development Area, Chairborough Road, High Wycombe – Proposals have been lodged to demolish 97 dwelling across the north and south sites of the area and develop 188 new homes.

66 of the homes will be one-bedroom flats and 66 will be two-bedroom flats on the northern site, alongside two three-bedroom semi-detached houses. 24 one-bedroom flats and 24 two-bedroom flats will be built on the southern site, alongside six four-bedroom houses.

The site will also include associated car and cycle parking, private amenity space, play space, public open space and landscaping.

2 - Upper Warren Farm Hampden Road Hughenden Valley – Plans have been submitted to demolish one barn and convert another on the site.

The first barn will be demolished and build a single-story block comprising of six letting rooms, containing en-suites, laundry rooms, dining rooms, toilets and bin stores.

The second barn will be converted to two self-contained one-bed holiday flats. Previously a horse training area, the new flats will be available for holiday lets and will include car parking and a lockable cycle store.

3 - 26 - 28 White Hart Street, High Wycombe – Plans to replace the former Ottakar’s store in High Wycombe have been submitted.

The applications states that two restaurant units will be built on the ground floor of the site with an office being built on the first floor. An external veil has also been proposed.

4 - Keystone House and 209 Boundary Road, Wooburn Green – Plans to build two flats including a bin and cycle store have been lodged.

The proposals include the construction of steps to the front an rear with retaining walls, associated landscaping, car parking and creation of new access.

The plans do have objectors, with one saying “Boundary Road is already very busy and has a 40mph speed limit (even though it is in a residential area) as a safety professional I believe that pedestrians will be put at risk.”

5. The Chequers, Fingest Lane, Fingest - Proposals to extend a single storey side and rear extension to the pub in order to provide an increased trading area have been submitted.

The pub will have more space on the interior and the pub plan on enclosing the pub garden.
