A DEDICATED father will be cycling the length of the country in a bid to raise money for a charity helping his albino son, George.
Chris Humphrey, 32, who lives in Wendover, will be joined by brother-in-law Mark Bayliss in his bike ride from Land's End to John O' Groats, in July, to raise money for the Albinisim Fellowship.
Chris's wife, Ruth, 32, is from Beaconsfield, where George's grandparents, Dorothy and David Bayliss, still live in Ledborough Lane, and is a former pupil of Beaconsfield High School.
She said: "We were very shocked when we found out that George had albinism.
"When he was born in July 1999, he seemed a perfectly normal, healthy baby.
"And when we found out he may have albinism we were shocked and distressed.
"Our greatest fear for him is the teasing which may well become part and parcel of his life as his fair colouring sets him apart. We are determined to give George a happy and fulfilling life."
People with albinism have little or no pigment in the eyes, skin and hair and nearly always have impaired vision and sensitivity to sunlight.
Chris, a tax consultant, is aiming to complete the 1,000 mile ride in ten days but realises that there is a lot of training to be done first.
If you would like to sponsor Chris and Mark on their ride visit their website at www.endtoend.fsnet.co.uk or write to Chris at 16 Lionel Avenue, Wendover, Aylesbury
