The Rotary Club held their annual senior citizens boat trip on Wednesday, July 10.

More than 100 pensioners from Marlow and the surrounding areas boarded the Salter Steamer, 'The Oxford', where they departed from Marlow to Henley, before returning to Marlow.

The day out was organised by the Rotary Club of Marlow along with their sister group the Inner Wheel of Marlow, who have been arranging the event for approximately 40 years.

Rotarian, Lance Slater told the Bucks Free Press: “The day went very well, and it was nice for everybody on board.

“The passengers enjoyed the views along the Thames whilst having a wonderful selection of teas, coffees and cakes.

“It’s our way to give our elderly citizens something to look forward to and it was wonderful to see them enjoy their trip.

The boat set for sail for around 1pm near Higginson Park where everybody on board enjoyed the commentary of the boat’s captain, before returning to the town four hours later.
