Slough firefighters are holding a charity fund raising car wash day on Saturday.
They will be cleaning peoples' cars between 10am and 4pm to raise money for the charity Meningitis Now - the national charity based in the United Kingdom and formed following a merger between the Meningitis Trust and Meningitis UK in 2013.
The event will have a special meaning for firefighter Ben Martin-Stone, whose granddaughter Freya-May dies of the disease last year aged three.
Over the years firefighters across the area have raised money for their favourite causes by washing the cars of passers-by, creating a tradition that has helped increase the bond between the men and women who provide one of the most important of the emergency services and the communities they serve.
