More than 20 senior citizens enjoyed high tea served by students and staff at The Highcrest Academy last week.

The school in High Wycombe entertained the guests on Monday afternoon (July 15) with music, singing, bingo, a quiz and a delicious spread of cake and Pimm’s.

The tea is an annual event which has been running every summer for several years for senior citizens in the community. Highcrest also hosts a similar party every Christmas.

Amongst the guests last week was a woman celebrating her 70th birthday and a couple marking their 47th wedding anniversary.

Joe Clarke, assistant head teacher, said: “Following on from the success of the Christmas party, it’s so good that our students connect to their community and I am very proud of them for helping to organise these events.”
