Life will be one big game at the Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre this August - as long as you are not easily scared.

It all begins Saturday with a shoot-out as part of an 'aliens vs zombies' event.

Young participants will have their faces painted to become impressive looking zombies or aliens for the day.

Grab the chance to take on this exhilarating challenge by registering on the Queensmere Observatory website to reserve a slot. There will be plenty of other free games throughout the day.

On Saturday, August 10 the fun continues with the nostalgic Actual Reality Arcade. Shoppers can physically step into timeless arcade games including Tetris, Whack and Space Invaders. The arcade is a regular at festivals across the UK and this will be its first appearance in Slough, offering an opportunity to experience life-sized gaming.

Finally on Saturday, August 24 shoppers of all ages are invited to take in the ball pit - one of the largest pits in Europe with over 100,000 balls inside.

There will be a chance to win prizes throughout the day as teams of shoppers are invited to hunt for the golden ball.

Chris Shaw, Centre Manager, said: “We pride ourselves on providing fun, free family activity to keep children entertained during the summer holidays. We’re excited to be hosting these events and giving families the chance to take part in a range of nostalgic games, reminding shoppers that getting active is just as much fun as virtual reality or their favourite game console.”

Each event is free and will run from 10am till 4pm in the main event space near Primark. For this Saturday's 'zombie' event register a place by visiting the centre’s website on www.queensmereobservatory.co.uk
