An intrepid young schoolgirl from Amersham has completed the Three Peaks challenge, at the age of just 6 years old.
Heatherton School student Seren Dale has climbed the three largest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales – becoming one of the youngest people to ever do so.
Seren first summited Mount Snowdon in North Wales with her father Alexander in August 2018 when she was just five and a half years old.
She then completed an ascent of Scaffell Pike and Ben Nevis on July 18 and July 25 respectively, as part of a four-week road trip from Lands End to John O’Groats with her family.
After completing the climb of Ben Nevis, Seren said she was "exhausted but you just have to keep going" and was looking forward to a celebratory ice cream. Her mother, Natasha Gunney, described Seren as "her hero" for her positive attitude and sense of adventure at such a young age.
Before she took any of the mountains in the UK, Seren completed a 1,812m climb of the Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina – at the age of just four and a half.
