Three people have been arrested after a man was reportedly stabbed in a Chesham cemetery.

At around 7.40pm on Wednesday (August 7), a man in his 30s was walking in the cemetery, when he came across two men and a woman.

There is believed to have been an argument between them, which escalated.

The alleged victim then ran away and was chased by one of the men. He fell to the floor and was reportedly stabbed in the buttock.

He was taken to hospital when he remains with non-life threatening injuries.

A 39-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy all from Buckinghamshire, were arrested on suspicion of GBH. They have all been bailed until September 5.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nicholas Widdison, of Force CID based at Aylesbury police station, said: “We are investigating this assault in which a man was stabbed.

“We have arrested three people in connection with this incident, but we are asking the public to come forward if they have information that could assist our investigation.

“We would ask anyone who witnessed the assault or saw two men and a woman in Chesham cemetery shortly before 7.40pm on Wednesday to please get in touch.”
