Chalfont St Peter pensioners enjoyed an afternoon of jazz and Pimm’s at Rutherford House.

Hosted by the retirement housebuilder McCarthy and Stone, the event was organised to encourage those who are aged over 70-years-old, to think about their next chapter when they reach retirement.

The pensioners were also given a tour of the house, with the jazz and Pimm’s afternoon taking place on Saturday, August 10.

Mark Kirby, estates manager at Rutherford House said: “Our afternoon of jazz and Pimm’s was a great success.

“The sun was shining with homeowners and guests enjoying the opportunity to sit back and relax in the landscaped gardens – and to socialise with neighbours and new-found friends.

“The event also provided us with an excellent chance to showcase the wide variety of activities we host here at Rutherford House, and to provide local people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development.”

Rutherford House was opened to the public in 2017 and consists of 39 one and two bedroom Retirement Living Plus apartments, which have been exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over.

Each resident at the home has their own tailored, domestic and personal assistance packages to help them manage their day-to-day lives.

And at the time of publishing, there are 16 rooms available at the home.
