The candidates set to stand for Amersham and Chesham Bois in the next local election have been announced.

Cllr Liz Walsh, Cllr Graham Harris and Cllr David King will stand in the May 2020 elections to the new Buckinghamshire Authority.

Liz Walsh, a Conservative party candidate, is currently a Chiltern District Council councillor and Amersham Town councillor.

Liz moved to Amersham with her husband and three children over 30 years ago. After training as a solicitor and working as a magistrate, Liz was elected to Amersham town council for the first time in 2011.

She also works as a cabinet member for Healthy Communities.

Also selected by the local Conservative party is Graham Harris, who has lived in Amersham for the last 34 years.

Until recently Graham was chairman of Chesham and Amersham Conservative Association.

During this time he led a campaign against HS2 proposals. Whilst he does not oppose High Speed rail, he highlights that the present proposals do not meet the initial government objectives.

David King currently sits on the Chesham Bois Parish Council as Vice Chairman. Cllr King is currently the chair of the Transport working group, as well as sitting on an array of local issue committees.
