James's Peachy Pictures
Step back in time and experience the first edition of James and the Giant Peach through Nancy Ekholm Burkert’s timeless illustrations for the book, on display this summer at the Museum. For James and the Giant Peach fans of all ages: those who remember these magical illustrations from their childhood, and a new generation discovering them for the first time. This is your chance to see these beautiful images while experiencing the sounds and smells from James’s extraordinary journey. Waddesdon's Summer of Sport

Houses Inhabited
There are over 30 historic buildings at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, each of them was either the workplace or home of ordinary people from within the Chilterns area. Over Sunday and August Bank Holiday Monday several our historic buildings will be inhabited by costumed re-enactors and stewards who will be telling and showing visitors what life would have been like for past inhabitants. Meet the toll house keeper’s wife, see what’s cooking in our Haddenham cottage, learn about straw plaiting in our Leagrave cottage, chat to the inhabitants of our 1940s prefab, meet the Iron Age man cooking his stew over the fire in our roundhouse and learn about the Victorian school in our Thame vicarage. Get ready for school with Metro Bank
Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, will be holding free back-to-school arts and crafts events across all of its 68 stores. The whole family, as well as pets, are invited. Kids will be able to create their very own bookmark ready for their first day back at school. Clayton's Marlow Presents... Bar-Bados All Day Carnival Party
Get your tropical shirts, flip-flops and sunglasses ready as Clayton’s Marlow bring you BAR-BADOS, their all-day Bank Holiday Sunday carnival party. During the day, whilst the rum punch and frozen daiquiris flow and the BBQ sizzles, the steel band will bring the carnival vibes. DJ Gilbert will get the tunes rolling on the terrace before DJs Antosh and Toney White go back to back, mixing up reggae, soul, funk, hip-hop, and tropical beats to get you dancing al-fresco.
