TV STAR Lin Blakley is set to star in Murder, Margaret and Me, coming to Theatre Royal Windsor this autumn.

Murder, Margaret and Me will be touring various UK theatres for three months from September 26.

Famous EastEnders actor Lin Blakley will be playing detective novelist Agatha Christie in Phillip Meeks popular play.

Murder, Margaret and Me follows the unlikely friendship between actress Margaret Rutherford and Agatha Christie set in the early 1960’s, whilst they create the Miss Marple movies.

Both these much-loved icons were shrouded in mystery; Margaret held a dark family secret, and Agatha mysteriously went missing for ten days, which has continued to baffled conspiracy theorists.

Through exploring their tumultuous relationship, the play seeks to pay homage to these two great women and their hidden histories.

Writer Phillip Meek used original letters from Christie to help bring the story to life, he said: “I’ve been able to refer to an amazing archive of letters in this version of the play.

“It makes me feel even more that what I’ve written is as I intended it to be, a play paying homage to the two great women.”

The play further explores the two women’s peculiar relationship and their personal lives, including Agatha Christie famously going missing for ten days.

Joining Lin Blakley is Sarah Parks from popular soap Coronation Street and the Royal Shakespeare company, and Gilly Tompkins.

Meek is working with director Damian Cruden, he added: “Theatre is all about collaboration and I’m very pleased my old collaborator Damian Cruden is recreating his production of Murder Margaret and Me with such a great cast.

“Damian really helped to shape the play and it’s always a joy to work with him.”

The play will be at Theatre Royal Windsor from September 30 to October 5.
