The 2019 Chalfont St Giles Show will return on Saturday, September 7.

The annual event will have several stalls, workshops and activities take place which range from creative writing, arts & crafts, cookery, an arcade, a funfair, a motorcycle freestyle show and a dog show, all arriving at the Stone and Silsden Meadow.

Several businesses from the Chalfont area will also be in attendance, with the money raised being donated to several charities and causes in the area.

Peter Scott, who is part of the show’s committee told the Bucks Free Press: “The show is unique in the respect that there is something for everyone.

“People all across the south attend the event which is amazing as we’ve had people from West London and Surrey come along because they love what is on offer.

“This year, we’ve got the Bolddogs Lings attending and they are incredible. They are a freestyle motorcycling group and we reckon they will be a big hit.

“The show is a huge part of the village’s history and it’s great to see so many people attend every year.”

A dog show will also take place at this year’s event with Mr Scott telling the Bucks Free Press that the welfare of the animals are to come first.

This comes after the Hazelmere Fete were heavily criticised after they held a dog show on Bank Holiday Monday in temperatures that reached nearly 30°C.

Mr Scott said: “I think we’ve seen the hottest part of the weather for now so when the show were to come along on September 7, it should be a cooler temperature than what we had over the Bank Holiday, but the animals’ welfare comes first."

The show starts at 11.30am and will finish for 6pm.
