A choir which caters to adults with learning disabilities will be launched in Amersham.
Chiltern Music Therapy will officially open Let’s Sing on Wednesday, September 18 at the Amersham Free Church, which will offer those with learning disabilities, autism, or additional needs the opportunity to experience singing or playing an instrument.
The event is aiming to give those who are mentally and physically impaired the chance to socialise in a safe environment whilst enjoying the sounds of singing and music.
Katie Shuster, who is the communications manager of the initiative said: “We are delighted to be bringing our successful community music group, which begun in High Wycombe and has more recently been running in Aylesbury and now Amersham.
“Let’s Sing aims to encourage socialisation, integration and community networking by reaching out to people living in our community who may experience isolation.
“We hope that the collaboration with the Chesham and Amersham District MENCAP will allow these valuable services to benefit the community on a long-term basis.”
Let’s Sing will run fortnightly on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 8pm.
All ages and abilities are welcome to participate, and no singing or musical experience is necessary.
