Marlow’s Waitrose have donated hundreds of pounds to one of the town’s up-and-coming charities.

The shop, which will officially close on October 27, has donated £460 to Making Marlow Dementia Friendly.

This is part of the store’s £1000 charity giveaway initiative, which is where they donate that money across three charities in the area, with the final amounts showing that £460 was given to MMDF, £300 going towards the Community First Responders and £240 being donated to the Marlow Santa Fun Run.

Making Marlow Dementia Friendly formed in October 2018 and are currently in the process of making the town a safe and welcoming area to those who are living with the illness.

The charity also confirmed that they will be attending the Marlow Carnival on September 21 to give advice to those who know who are living with the condition.

MMDF have also revealed that they will hold talks at the Cliveden Manor Care Home on September 19, October 19 and November 26, as they really push to make Marlow a friendly area for dementia patients.

The charity is currently looking for volunteers to help with events.
