A High Wycombe care home worker has received a prestigious service from the Mayor of High Wycombe following 20 years of service.

Rachel Weatherhill is currently the head housekeeper at Shelburne Lodge Care Home in High Wycombe, having started at the home in August 1999.

Since beginning at the home, Mrs Weatherhill has worked with both residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs are met over the years.

Hugely passionate in her work, Rachel has dedicated her time to ensure that residents have clean and comfortable living spaces to allow them to live with dignity and respect.

Mayor of High Wycombe Cllr Mazamal Hussain was invited to the home and presented Rachel with flowers to congratulate her on achieving 20 years of service.

The homes hospitality team also baked a cake and prepared a sweet and savoury spread for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy.

Mazamal Hussain said: “I’m always pleased to meet people in our community like Rachel who dedicate their lives to helping others. Rachel has achieved a fantastic milestone and it makes me very proud to be able to honour and celebrate her today.”

Sharon Pither, General Manager of Shelburne Lodge said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 20 years of loyal service with Rachel. She has demonstrated her dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year.

“On behalf of our team at Shelburne Lodge we can’t thank her enough for all that she does, and I’m looking forward to many more years of working alongside a great colleague and friend.”
